Prose 'n Poetry Corner

Each month I will look through my notebooks and find a little bit of prose 'n poetry. Often written in a few minutes, so please don't expect Wordsworth, but hopefully these entries will provide a little interlude in your day. A chance to think and ponder, to daydream or to visualize, to perhaps see things in a different light.

Please see what you think and let me know if it is useful or not - highlights some valuable points but in a lighter vein . . .

We all want something special
That is the way to be
No one likes to feel ineffectual
That just annoys you and me
We all want just to feel
Each breath, each precious moment
And find that it is so real
. . . just to be

We drive our car
A bit fast here and there
Sometimes we go too far
People stand back and stare

They just cannot believe it
In the front we just relax and sit
Without a care in the whole wonderful wide world
Gazing with amazement as life for us does so naturally unfold

When you go away
Does not mean you get to stay
But for a short while something new
Splendid vistas come into view
And as time moves forward that day
You return home to relax, rest and play

Can I assist
I do not insist
On anything particular
Either near or far
I'd prefer help in my backyard
When the going is confusing or hard
I promise your support not to resist

Oh no, not another meeting

To be heard and followed wherever - how disappointing

When it could all be so different
If we all came together and agreed our direction
Then worked together giving each other our support
Our brave new world - we could be responsible for its invention

Tackle the pressure you put on yourself

You put the pressure on you and you have to tackle that. Things occur and you respond and you decide the priorities. You decide the effort required and the direction taken.

You are the one to get you moving.

Others can order you, some can motivate you. Some can inspire you to action.

But you are the one to get you moving. You have to be that one.

What does this take?

What exactly gets you into action?

Rewards? Benefits?

A good cause?

A sense of fun or enjoyment, achievement and success. Being number one and nothing else.

Helping others and giving of your time.

What exactly gets you into action?

What enthuses you? What gets you out of bed in the morning and raring to go?

What excites you? What energizes you?

For you need this stimulus to act in this pressure-cooker type world we now live in.

At times it can seem easier to stay at home and enjoy your favorite drink in front of the TV. And that at times can be great.

But when you need to act what gets you going?

When you need to do something what gets the ball rolling?

Find that hot spot, that trigger.

Then the pressures of life, such as they are, for you to act and to do more - once the action is begun, they will slowly melt away.

Or at the least you will have a better relationship with them.

A friendly relationship rather than a hostile one.

And you will feel that little bit more comfortable with yourself and your life.
You will be participating and not a spectator. A discoverer rather than letting life pass you by. A creative force rather than being moulded by outside forces.

Another chance to show life (and yourself) just what you are made of.
